giant rose

A 28 feet high rose was installed on the New Museum's facade last saturday. "Rose II" is by artist Isa Genzken a post-war sculptor who represented Germany at the 2007 Venice Biennale. Her work re-imagines architecture, assemblage, and installation, giving form to new plastic environments and precarious structures. This second intervention on SANAA's building is part of the New Museum’s ongoing Façade Sculpture Program after Ugo Rondinone's "Hell, Yes!".

PUBLIÉ/AUTOPUBLIÉ REDUX

Pica magazine, Palimpsest et Magdirectory présente la deuxième édition de Publié/Autopublié : une collection de publications contemporaines d’arts et de design réunissant livres, magazines et fanzines.

Le volet PUBLIÉ présente en exclusivité à Montréal, des publications de maisons d’édition et de magazines indépendants distribués à l’internationale. Des titres novateurs de Berlin, Londres, New York, Amsterdam, Séoul, Milan, Barcelone sont rassemblés pour la première fois sous un même toit.

AUTOPUBLIÉ dévoilera sa deuxième commission de fanzines repensés par des créateurs d’ici et de l’étranger. Des desigers, artistes, auteurs, studios et blogueurs sont invités à créer une publication en série afin de questionner le potentiel de l’imprimé. Autopublié est un véhicule d’idées, d’esthétiques sur l’objectification contemporaine de l’information et de son organisation.

Dans un monde où l’information numérique prend une grande place, où l’imprimé connaît un essor, PUBLIÉ/AUTOPUBLIÉ rassemble le meilleur du monde de l’édition tout en soulevant ses possibilités encore inexploitées.
